Double-glazed Fieldfare

Whilst 'nothing much' continues to happen in the world of wildlife down in Surrey, here are a couple of photos of a Fieldfare that took up residence in the garden during the recent cold spell. It developed a particular taste for the Pyracantha berries right under the bedroom window, fiercely guarding them from the endless flow of Redwings. A relatively close approach could be made, albeit shot through double-glazed windows...

Wow - this is lovely!! I've only seen in pics and don't believe I've ever seen one so close. His head and eye remind me of our American Robin.
